We just placed the biggest tool order since we opened 15 years ago. A huge thanks to our campaign donors and members for making this happen!
First, a 1200 Watt xTool MetalFab CNC laser that precisely cuts and marks 2' x 2' sheets of metal. This is a great tool for robotics teams, artists, jewelers, engineers, and anybody who's needed a bracket that doesn't exist anymore.
Second, an Apparel Printer that prints high-res, full color graphics you can heat press onto shirts, totes, hoodies, and plenty of other materials. The average cost of a full color cotton t-shirt print should be less than $6!
See live demos at our Open House on September 26th, and pre-purchase a class today! Members, donors, and anyone who pre-purchases will have priority access when classes launch in October.
want a head start?
We're still finishing the funding for the apparel printer's onboarding, and have two great ways for you to help!
Option 1: Pre-pay for a class. Includes a free day pass ($50 value)! Great for yourself or as a gift. Members and donors get first pick when classes open, and pre-purchasers get in right after, ahead of general registration.
Option 2: Donate. Fen Ridge Designs, a local business, is matching the community dollar for dollar - up to $2,000 through September 6th. Donors get early access to the classes when posted. We are a 501(c)(3) and your donation is likely tax deductible.
"Fen Ridge Designs LLC is a local veteran-owned small business. We specialize in custom laser engraving and personalized products. From one-of-a-kind creations to custom business orders.” Thank you Fen Ridge Designs!
Our 15th Anniversary Open House is Saturday, September 26th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Free, all ages.
We'll be running live demos on the MetalFab, apparel printer, 80 Watt Epilog, Pen Lathe, plus the woodshop, metal shop, textiles, electronics, and jewelry studios. Instructors will be on the floor to answer questions. Bring somebody who's never set foot in a makerspace, it's fun to watch that land.
We're looking forward to seeing you at this year's Open House! A huge THANK YOU to the members, donors, and volunteers who enabled this.
