Open Maker Night — Meeting at Maker Works
MEETING SCHEDULE — Every 3rd sunday of the month, 4 - 7 pm
Work on anything you like, with no experience, by using our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)!
OVERVIEW — WHAT IS Open Maker Night?
This is an event for people to come hang out and/or work on their own projects. In addition to providing space, Maker Works will provide everyone with free membership for the evening! This means you can use any tool that does not require a safety checkout class, as well as any tools that you have taken the safety checkout class for.
If you want to use a tool that requires a checkout class, please take the class ahead of time! If you don’t see a class that fits your schedule, click the “Request” button!
To see a list of tools that do not require a checkout class, read through this page.
Want to try laser cutting some material before taking the laser checkout class? A volunteer can do a simple cut for you!
WHAT TO EXPECT AT This MEETING
This is an opportunity to work on personal projects while connecting with others in the community. This event is open to anyone interested in making, building, designing, or learning in a shared space.
You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring a project to work on, ask questions, observe what others are doing, or simply meet new people. Stay for the full event, or arrive and leave whenever it suits you.
All attendees will receive temporary access to the shop’s tools, with the exception of tools that require prior safety training.
Staff and/or volunteers will be around to answer questions, explain tools, and run basic demos.

Examples of questions you might be expected to answer:
