Membership Explainer

Classes don't require a membership. Anyone can sign up for a class. Membership comes into play when you want to use tools on your own.

Term Memberships

All tiers include the same access to areas, tools, and machines.
The biggest difference is when you can visit.

Casual Users

We recommend Standard Hours. visits during open hours, when several staff are available. 80% of members are at this tier.

Intermediate Users

Try Extended Hours. Get extra access Mon-Thurs mornings. Fewer staff are available — you must be more self-sufficient.

Experienced Users

We have All Hours for 24/7 access. 6 months of membership is a prerequisite.

  • Your membership covers you and any dependent children under 16. You are allowed to bring up to 2 guests, but they can only watch you or help you carry materials — they cannot use tools.

  • Your membership ends when it ends — we only renew it if you ask us to. We also hate it when businesses make cancelling harder than signing up.

  • No. Your membership covers access to the entire shop and all tool use. The only additional costs are training classes for the tools that require them. You can also rent storage if you need it.

 

Flex Memberships

Not sure how often you’ll be in, want to try us out, or looking to make a one-time project? Try a 10-visit punch card or a day pass. You could even upgrade to a Term membership by paying the difference.

STORAGE

Members can rent dedicated storage, from plywood slots to full closets. Ask staff about availability. See more about storage.
