Join the Great Maker Race Pit Crew!

July 28-29, 2018

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation
20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

We'd love to have your help, working with kids (and adults) to create their own one-of-a-kind racers and race them down our timed racetrack. This event is outside, under a tent on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum. It's a great way to be involved in the maker community, enjoy the Maker Faire the rest of the weekend, and earn some Maker Works credit! Find more info on the race itself and the various stations pit crew members will run on The Great Maker Race page. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Volunteers may commit to 1 or 2 shifts per day (9am-2pm or 1pm-6pm). They will receive a 2-day entry wristband to the Maker Faire (includes all day admission to Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation), plus Maker Works membership/class credit according to the following schedule:

1 shift = wristband only

2 shifts = wristband + $45 credit

3 shifts = wristband + $90 credit

4 shifts = wristband + $135 credit

You will receive a detailed email the week before the event, which will cover:

  • Ride sharing
  • Parking
  • Volunteer check in at the Faire
  • Youth Maker Form and Waiver (for volunteers under 18, to be signed by a parent or guardian and brought to the event)
  • Tips to make your day enjoyable

Please note: We will train you at the event! No need to come to Maker Works for a training session.
