Join the Great Maker Race Pit Crew!

July 28-29, 2018

Henry Ford Museum
20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

We'd love to have your help, working with the kids (and adults) to create their own one-of-a-kind racers and race them down our timed racetrack. This event is outside, under a tent on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum. Find more info on the race itself and the various stations pit crew members will run on The Great Maker Race page.

Volunteers may commit to 1 or 2 shifts per day (9am-2pm or 1pm-6pm).  While we have not confirmed the Henry Ford's policy this year for wristbands, it's our current understanding that you’ll receive a 2-day entry wristband to the Maker Faire, plus Maker Works membership/class credit according to the following schedule:

1 shift = wristband only

2 shifts = wristband + $45 credit

3 shifts = wristband + $90 credit

4 shifts = wristband + $135 credit

We will let you know if there are any changes to the wristband policy.

There will be two training sessions at Maker Works to prepare you for the event, on Wednesday July 25th and Thursday July 26th, both starting at 7pm and going to 8ish. Please try to attend one of these sessions. We will be covering the following at the training sessions:

  • Stations that volunteers will be running at the Faire

  • Tips and tricks for surviving the day

  • Ride share logistics
